Would you like to increase your knowledge of traditional buildings? Historic Scotland’s Technical Conservation Summer School offers the opportunity to improve your skills by obtaining specialist conservation training from some of Scotland’s leading experts in the field.

This week-long training course provides a solid introduction to traditional building materials and their repair and maintenance through a combination of lectures, field trips and hands on sessions. By the end of the week you will have insight into how to approach working with traditional buildings and their component materials.

There are 460,000 traditional buildings in Scotland, ranging from castles to tenements, churches to factories, all of which require appropriate maintenance and repair. Historic Scotland’s Summer School is a unique week long opportunity to learn from top conservation specialists and to experience traditional crafts and building skills first hand.

Tickets for this event are now available costing £100 - £450 (day and week tickets available)

Accommodation not included. Limited student bursary placements are available.
