The course will look at the variety of options available to improve the energy efficiency performance of traditional buildings and discusses their respective merits. It also includes demonstrations using a training rig.



NPA Masonry Conservation

This is a 6 week course due to take place in winter 2015 dates to be confirmed. An attendance bursary is available for this course. Suitable for stonemasons with an SVQ level 3 or similar. The course covers the principles of conservation, traditional mortars, masonry materials performance and repairs, consolidation of masonry structures and surfaces finishing of masonry walling.



The Architecture of Scotland in its European Setting 1660 - 1750

This conference will review the architecture of Scotland’s early classical period, 1660-1750, set against the backdrop of European sister cultures. It will re-examine the work of major Scottish architects including Sir William Bruce, Mr James Smith, the Mylne family, William Adam and their contemporaries: clients, garden designers and craftsmen.
